Humanistic Gestalt therapist
I am a Humanistic Gestalt therapist and I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and the ability to make positive changes in their lives.
I will offer you a safe, confidential, supportive space to come and be heard without judgement. You will find me to be warm, welcoming and friendly; I believe that the most important factor in counselling is the relationship between the client and the counsellor and together we can build a relationship based on trust.
Gestalt therapy focuses on how difficulties and challenges are affecting a person’s life in the “here and now”, which is not to say that events and issues from the past are irrelevant, but that it is how they are affecting you in the present that is most important. I will sit alongside you, and support you, as you find your own way, helping you to explore and make sense of your world and experiences.
Sometimes it can be helpful to work in a more goal-focused way and I am able to use some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques within my counselling. I can also help you to develop a “toolkit” of strategies and techniques to manage your mental health.
Ultimately I see it as a huge privilege to sit and listen to someone tell me their story and allow me into their world.
