Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and Life Coach
I am a master practitioner and certified trainer of hypnotherapy, neuro linguistic programming (NLP) and life coaching. I am also trained in cognitive behavioural theory and have a BA (Hons) in psychology and counselling. I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and comply with their strict code of ethics.
I am passionate about working with people and have 14 years’ experience of supporting and coaching individuals in relation to personal and emotional well-being and professional development, both in the public and private sectors. I have also delivered cognitive behavioural programmes in group-work settings and currently train hypnotherapy, NLP and life coaching to groups of students.
So how do I work?
I use a combination of hypnotherapy, NLP and life coaching to support you in getting the life you want. Hypnotherapy and NLP are both rapid transformational change therapies that work by changing your relationship with problematic issues or behaviours that prevent you from being the best version of you. We store beliefs about ourselves, both helpful and not so helpful, in our subconscious minds and therefore to make effective and lasting change to the unhelpful behaviours, it can be necessary for these to be changed at the subconscious level. Hypnotherapy and NLP are the only therapies that specifically target and work on the subconscious and together provide an effective, rapid change in behaviour.
Having previously been a Probation Officer I am extremely non-judgemental and open in my approach. I work with you and the issues that you are struggling with. I am a firm believer that everyone has all the resources and knowledge that they need within themselves to resolve their problems; I have the privilege of supporting individuals through their personal journeys, discovering for themselves their own skills and strengths.
I specialise in a number of areas including the following:
- Confidence and self belief
- Stress, anxiety and insomnia
- Weight management
- Fears and phobias
- Performance and exam nerves
I offer a free, no obligation 30 minute friendly consultation so that I can find out more about the issues you are experiencing and you can feel assured that you are comfortable working with me. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and find out if you think hypnotherapy, NLP and life coaching could be the right therapies for you.
I am a performer and I was suffering with really bad nerves before doing a performance for auditions to get a job. It was affecting my performance and it was making me feel really anxious about not being able to do my best. I had a session of hypnotherapy which I had never experienced before. I felt relaxed the whole session. I felt that I was really looked after and safe to express my feelings and concerns. I actually had an audition the day after my first session and the difference was unbelievable. Using all of the techniques and exercises I was taught I was able to keep my nerves at bay and I felt like I was able to be the best I could be for my audition. I went on through two more rounds and actually was offered a job through this audition. I feel like the ability to control my nerves through hypnotherapy has helped me so very much and I would recommend to anyone.
Not knowing what to expect from my Hypnotherapy session I was hoping for a relaxing hour and a bit of de-stressing from my hectic job. I was not disappointed and had the most relaxing hour I can remember and felt totally rejuvenated when it was over. I was more than happy with that but as the days went on I found I was so much more focussed and motivated and found myself getting through twice as many tasks as normal without even thinking about it. I cannot recommend Bobby highly enough, she is a lovely person and a very talented Hypnotherapist.
I had recently changed my job after having worked from home for a long period on my own to working in an office with other people. I hadn’t realised how isolated I had become and found myself struggling with the social aspect of interacting with other people in an office environment, which was causing me to have anxiety attacks and feeling very low. I contacted Bobby –Jo after seeing her details at the local GP surgery , I must say even during the initial telephone call she was very non-judgmental and listened carefully to the problems and concerns I was having and after the first session I could already start to see things differently as she went through all my worries and problems and asked me where I wanted to be which gave me a focus on where I was and where I wanted to get to. She has really helped me deal with my feelings of anxiety and I am now feeling confident and not only getting on well at work, happy dealing with and talking to people, making new friends, but also happier at home and making more time for my family. I was very reluctant originally to seek any help as I thought it would mean being put on pills at the GP,s which I really didn’t want to do, I was also ashamed and didn’t want to talk to anyone about my problems as I thought I should just pull myself together but am so glad that I contacted Bobby-Jo who has really helped me work through my anxiety and shown me a different way and that it was not my fault or something that I had done.
