What counselling is and how it works​



Counselling is a talking therapy that provides a secure place to share and explore your problems, feelings and thoughts with an experienced and qualified therapist.  It can be a powerful process when clarity and understanding  is gained.


We offer different counselling approaches. 

Humanistic therapy
This approach focuses on the individual as a whole. It encourages people to think about their feelings and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. The emphasis is on self-development and achieving your highest potential rather than on problematic behaviour. Gestalt therapy, person-centred therapy, transactional analysis and transpersonal therapy are all humanistic approaches.

Integrative therapy 

Integrative counselling, as the name suggests, is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations.
